Searching for Robbins or Hlavaty family history.

Just found this blog while poking around in the middle of the night. Looking for anyone who may have info about my fathers past. His name was Roy Hlavaty, and he was born in Glade Park in 1928, to James Hlavaty and Ruth Robbins. We know absolutely nothing of his past, so it would be great if we could find any info at all.

I will have to look into making a trip out that way to try and dig up a little history. It would be amazing if the cabin dad lived in was still standing. I think that alone would be worth the trip. I will have to ask my mom about the Robbins family. She grew up with dad, but lived in Fruita, and didn't know much about dads family. She was a Nichols before she married him, and I think her family might have had property in the Glade Park area too.

I am sorry I am just now seeing your reply (almost a year later!)
The Hlavaty homestead is about 2.5 miles west on BS road and then you go to the north about 3/4 mile. It is against a sandtone rim and the old cabin still stands there. Last I knew Theresa Jensen (the owner of the Glade Park Store) owned it.
Also, There was a Robbins family that had a Homestead 3/4 mile east of the Glade Park Store immediately north of DS road. As you east of the store (towards town) you start up a small hill and the homestead was ontop of the hill.
I know that Carl "Cowboy" RObbins was born there but not sure if this is the same Robbins family.

Can you tell me where it is, or how I can find it? I would like to take a trip out there sometime and see what kind of history I can find. I have found their graves at the cemetary, and would love to see the ranch.

I can tell you where the Hlavaty place is on Glade Park, the Hlavaty family bought their place from my great great granddad Samuel Rench.
