BLM Land Management Plan Focus Group - March 3 at 6:30

by Kelly Gorton
(Grand Junction, CO)

My name is Kelly Gorton. I am a research assistant for the Natural Resource and Land Policy Institute at Mesa State College in Grand Junction, CO. We have been asked by the Bureau of Land Management Grand Junction Field Office to collect input from community leaders and residents, like you, about land management policies on Mesa County public lands. The BLM is currently revising its Resource Management Plan which will shape how 1.2 million acres of BLM public lands around Mesa and western Garfield counties will be managed for the next 20 years. Your input is important because it gives you and your community an opportunity to shape important land management policies.

We will be conducting a focus group (which is an informal conversation with a small group of community leaders and residents) in your community on Tuesday, March 3rd at 6:30pm. The meeting will be in the Glade Park Community Center.

The entire focus group experience should take about an hour and a half. We would ask that you consider participating in this important process. The results of the focus group will be communicated to the GJ BLM Field Office for consideration when revising their Resource Management Plan. The results of the focus group will be part of the public record, and other than being listed in the public record as being invited to participate, your actual participation is anonymous.
