7th Annual Glade Park Cowboy Music & Poetry Festival
Come and Join the FUN! The 7th Annual Glade Park Cowboy Music & Poetry Festival will be held Saturday August 4th. This Festival brings the Old West back to life. Cowboy poetry has a long history in the West rooted during Fall cattle drives when the herds were moved from one grazing area to another and often times to railheads for selling. After a long day’s work the cowboys would gather around the campfire and entertain one another with tall tales and folk songs. The cowboy lifestyle is a living tradition that still exists on Glade Park as well as other North American ranches. Cowboy music and poetry has something for everyone with themes of the western lifestyle, humorous anecdotes as well as memories of times and people long gone.
PERFORMING THIS YEAR: James Michael, Terry Nash & Steve Jones
